Reply to commentary on the K10m DSIP for Wapenamanda for 2018

BY JOE WASIA

Every individual is entitled to his or her own views and opinions per premiable of the constitution of Papua New Guinea. I thank Facebook as one of the social media platforms for providing the avenue for individuals with concerns as this to air without fear or intimidation. I think in the long run many public figers will be put under microscopic lens.

To the subject, we all know Hon Rimbink Pato was tied up in the organising of one of the very very important and an historical event, the APEC Summit 2018, last month as a Foreign Affairs Minister, hence he had no time to be with us in the district delivering projects as many of us have expected. He had even sleepless nights here and abroad. It was indeed a huge challenge and an experience gain for Mr Pato and the O'Niel Govt. I take my hat off to this government for a well organised APEC Summit 2018.

No More Delays In Court Cases: Says PNG Chief Justice

BY TODAGIA KELOLA

The proverb “Justice delayed is justice denied”, an old but a partial truth reflecting the darker areas of the judicial system will be the first task of Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika.

In an exclusive interview with the Post-Courier yesterday, Sir Gibbs said he has gone through all outstanding judgments by all judges and he will be privately speaking to the judges to ensure that all delayed judgments are completed and delivered.

“It’s a challenge to the judiciary for us to deliver justice services to our people in a timely manner.”

“Some of our judges have reserved decisions which have been outstanding for quite a long time and I’m already doing that, I’m beginning to see which judges have that long reserved list and I have plans for that and that is for these judges to be taken off the normal day to day work and for them to concentrate on finishing their long outstanding reserved decisions,” Justice Salika said.

Call for sacking of school principals in Enga Province after fall in the Gr10 and Gr12 National Examinations

By Tony Sulupin

In light of disappointing selection results produced by Gr 12 students in Enga's 6 secondary schools, aggressive actions must be taken against the principals who had displayed incompetency in executing duties.

Its a sole duty of principal in consultation with his/her 2x deputies to ensure adequate learning is taking place. The competency and consistency of teaching staff is assessed on regular basis so that students don't miss out anything they deserve for learning.

The principals may have failed in their duties that students were not provided with conducive study environment in terms of food rations, behavior control, learning materials and of course quality/experienced teachers.

A New Doctrine for Married Couples in Life In The Spirit Ministries in Papua New Guinea

By Jay Kita

A New Doctrine Dawn For Married Couples - "Reunion of Marriage" in Papua New Guinea. Introducing Mass Weeding for Married Couples who are members of Life in the Spirit Ministries in Port Moresby.

The act of "Reunion of Marriage" . Is it biblical by this phrase??? It needs critical analysis of the biblical truth. It is the indication of deviating from the pure salvation and redemption plan for man by the Creator The God Almighty. Therefore, be watchful of the Human Ideologies and Fantasies indoctrinated in the ministries and churches today lure Christians from churches.

Port Moresby is NOT Papua New Guinea. 😡😡😡

Current PNG GOVERNMENT under the Leadership of Peter O'Neill is covering up with the flashy Amazing APEC Preparations in Port Moresby, (AKA) YOGA City.

The REAL Papua New Guinea is out there as you move out and away from the Cruise ships and the APEC House in the YOGA City.

The Current PNG Government is ignoring the #SAD_REALITIES which the people are living with.

FAREWELL IN ORDER_ Knighted Hela man Clocks 25 years with Porgera JV

Sir Erick Marape, a name synonymous in the Entire Hela and Southern Highlands Provinces has clocked quarter of a century with PJV.

Today PJV branch in Hela farewells him after serving diligently with high commitment and dedication.

Erick Started as an Electoral Officer with Southern Highlands Provincial Government, under Andrew Andaija then Premier, after completing his Grade 10 at Tari St. Joseph's in 1974.

He left after serving for 5 years to join Mt. Kare Alluvial mining as a Community Relations Officer which saw him elected as Chairman of Task Force Committee responsible for peace mediation between Hela Brothers, Paila and Tari over the land ownership of Mt.Kare.

Tera Tandapu the Deputy Governor of Enga needs to step down now

To: The Enga Provincial Government
CC/; PPC Enga Chief Inspector Joseph Tondop
CC/; General Enga People
SUB: Hon. Tera Tandapu the Deputy Governor need to step down now

This notice to inform the general public and the Enga Provincial government that office of the deputy governor is in questionable stage where he needs immediate investigation on the current tribal fighting up at Laiagam between his clan and other neighboring clan in Liop Council ward. He was the former local councilor at Liop ward and later promoted to presidential seat in which he was the chief of Wayap Clans. He used to be one of the top servant leaders where he have so much evidential track records in quenching tribal fighting and used to be peace loving leader who promotes peace in the society and the district as well.

K160m banknotes hijacked in Indonesia and make its way back to Papua New Guinea.

In the next installment of a James Bond-like, high-seas theft, the Bank of Papua New Guinea has warned that K160 million in paper banknotes, which it had designated to be destroyed, has been hijacked and some has found its way back to the country from Indonesia.

So far, of the total amount, only K1 million has been recouped. The notes, in denominations of K2, K5, K10, K20, K50 and K100, were sold to a recycling company in Europe in 2013. They were loaded into a container for shipment to Europe but the container was stolen.

Its believed high officials from Papua New Guinea been involved in this money theft. And the money is believed to be used in running campaigns in 2017 general elections

An Insight Into Papua New Guinea National Budget

By Mathias V Lasia

"You NOT Voting for PNC candidates is a ticket for O'Neill, Marape and Dairi Vele to finally make it to BOMANA when a new Government is formed*"
PNG has recently made the headlines across the globe for being in a financial debt crisis and struggling to pay its debts and expenses.
It is no secret the O'Neill Government has had cash-flow crisis and only managing to keep its head above water.

What little tax income it earns each month is being used to ensure public servants are paid every fortnight and any difference is directed to propping up its free education policy and partly pay for its inflated contracts.

Meanwhile Peter O'Neill claims the country's financial crisis has been caused by dramatic fall in world commodity prices placing a strain on economies around the world.

So is Peter O'Neill telling the truth? Short answer is No.

The PNG Government funds its operations, development projects and services its debt obligations through the collection of taxes and overseas grants (donor funding). Tax collection or revenue is categorized into three main parts.
1) Tax on Income and Profits (company, wages tax etc)
2) Tax from Goods & Services (GST etc)
3) Tax from International Trade (import & export taxes).

Included in tax on income and profits is Mining & Petroleum tax which relates to taxes imposed on mining and petroleum companies who earn large profits from the sale of natural resources; gold, silver, copper, oil and gas etc to overseas markets.
