However, many critics say that such is an attitude of a "kanakae" to lure votes and maintain social relations in the society.
Despite this, Hon. Miki Kaeok, MP and Vice Minister for Works & Highways in his first public address to his people of Wapenamanda, Enga and PNG said that his name tag "ATM" is best replaced with "Kalai-akali or Wokman" and "Kanakae" with "Saveman". He came with a Hope unite all educated elites to help redevelop policy frameworks and rehabilitate and rebuild Wapenamanda from it's slumber and ruins.
He said this at the invitation of our 11th Prime Minister of PNG, Hon. James Marape and his delegation of high profile Ministers and Statesmen in the likes of our Governor, Hon. Sir Peter Ipatas, Hon. Don Pomb Polye, Hon. Dr. Tom Lino, Hon. Rainbow Paita, Hon. Solam Mirisim and Member for Mul/Baiyer.
In his keynote speech at the launch of his 5 year District Improvement Plan, Kaeok said he will develop and rehabilitate Wapenamanda District Station as it is a "transit gateway" to Enga Province. He also announced that he will upgrade and rebuild Lower-Lai road linking Mambisanda to Tupikoros and further connecting Baiyer-Lumusa and Kompiam from Tupikoros. Further, he proposed to build "Yapao Flyover" connecting Pausa Cliffside and Kembo. Finally, he pledged to develope and rehabilitate all existing Government infrastructures including health centres and hospital, schools and police stations & CIS camp within the district. These are his priority projects.
Our PM, James Marape injected a total of K28 million to finance all the projects which were launched.
Above all, let us all embrace change, put all differences aside and work together for better Wapenamanda. Together, we can do it.
