PNG Politics Is Very Interesting. Lot more corrupt practices sweep under carpet.

In brief;

1. Geoffrey Vaki – found guilty on preventing the course of justice to arrest Prime Minister Peter O’Neill

2. Hon Ano Pala – found guilty on the same subject –preventing the course of justice to arrest Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.

How long will it take to arrest the country’s most corrupt Prime Minister Peter O’Neill? I’m saying most corrupt since he cannot turn himself in, to face the justice and clear all the allegations labeled against him. Instead, his two blind slaves are now receiving their cut of shares for negligence to allow law to take its course.

It doesn’t need someone with a law degree to interpret the unfolded events, since the revelation of Paul Paraka saga. Let me give a brief rundown from a layman’s view, of what has transpired and materialized from day one till this date...

In August 11, 2011 when Grand Chief Sir Michael Thomas Somare was unconstitutionally and illegally removed from the Prime Minister’s Office, Task Force Sweep was installed to weed out corruption in various government departments starting with National Planning Department. Under the command of Sam Koim, Chairman of Task Force Sweep, a good number of highly classified and confidential corrupt deals and transactions were revealed and exposed to the court.

One was the Parakagate saga where public money amounting up to K71.8million was paid into the account Paul Paraka Lawyers as legal bills for its services to the state. After close assessment of the transaction, Task Force Sweep found that the transaction, at all aspects, was questionable and suspicious on the grounds that the bills do not correspond with Paraka’s services to the state nor should I say O’Neill.

Under the common law where everyone is subjected to face, O’Neill was asked to face the fraud squad to clear the payment as it involves PUBLIC MONEY where every individual Papua New Guineans contribute either directly or indirectly. When it was revealed on the floor of parliament by Hon Belden Namah, who was then the Opposition Leader and currently facing leadership tribunal which his one-time best friend O’Neill cannot, the Prime Minister denied the allegations by claiming that he DID NOT sign the authorization letter for the payment to be made. He strongly argued that his signature was forged, may be by a ghost in one of those key government departments – treasury or finance, which to this date, no one is found of forging O’Neill’s signature.

The much argued authorization letter was sent to Australia for a forensic test and was proven that the signature on the authorization letter was not forged. It was Peter O’Neill, the liar’s original signature. At that time, Tom Kulunga was the Police Commissioner. He failed his constitutional duties to arrest the liar Peter O’Neill. Even after the current Opposition Leader and sacked Treasury Minister Hon Don Polye disclosed to the nation as the primary witness that the payment was authorized by O’Neill, still the poor commissioner cannot do anything. In fact, he was supporting O’Neill.

After so many million kina cost court battles, Kulunga knows that his time is numbered if he continues to knowingly safeguard Peter O’Neill. Kulunga knew very well that the law will hunt him down soon. He will have to make a sacrifice either to choose Bomana by way of protecting O’Neill or safe his own life by arresting O’Neill. On the other hand, smart O’Neill outplayed poor Kulunga when he announces the on-the bail prisoner Geoffrey Vaki as the new commissioner replacing Kulunga.

With Vaki acted as another remote control device for O’Neill, million if not billion kina court battles continue to take momentum like a bush fire in the hope of protecting only one guy who has many names tags, O’Steal and Liar as the most common ones used today in PNG vocabulary. As the wheel of justice continues to turn, O’Neill knows that if he keeps Vaki, both of them will spend time in Bomana eating wheat and brown rice with Paul Tiensten. Another MP Hon Francis Potape did enjoy the privilege of being housed at Bomana. His unfair bail-out through court ruling has also left a lot of legacies behind our judiciary system. What sense does it make for a pick pocket who stole K100 to serve fully serve his term jail while someone proven in supreme court of corruptibly stole K60 000 to walk out freely?

Now, the best thing O’Neill must do to remain in power is to substitute Vaki with retired and failed politician Mr. Gary Baki. The appointment was unconstitutional and illegal. Few weeks after the changes, saw blind Vaki spending a night, having good time at Boroko Police Station. He is set to be sent to his new residential area in Bomana. Baki, as a new PC, made several changes in the police department on the advice of O’Neill. One was the transferring of NCD Met. Supt Andy Bawa. Andy Bawa is known for allowing people expressing their DEMOCRATIC Rights PEACEFULLY.

Look at the manner in which the current Met. Sup Turi with few of his brainless cops did to the protesters on Monday. The protesters haven’t done anything wrong. They never rob this country like O’Neill and his disable MPs did. They never loot any shops. Yet, they were beaten, intimidated and stopped by few of those Grade 8 or 10 drop-outs that joined the force through bribery and nepotism and underwent 6 months elementary school training at Bomana. The wheel of justice is still turning. Who is next on the list to follow Vaki and Kulunga?

The MPs with due respect to certain vocal MPs which I know of, simply watched those events unfolded like a movie session, enjoying every part of it. They continue to claim that their corrupt government is delivering developments to the people like never before. Certain brief case carriers and tea boys and girls of O’Neill with those fat bellies MPs used those developments as their point of arguments to defend their master. In my simple understanding, those developments came at a very expensive cost through corrupt and questionable deals. In other words, it doesn’t make sense fund a simple double classroom at a cost of K1million which can cost less than K150 000. And the contract was awarded to one of their companies or wantok. Let me not mention them name by name.

I remember one MP coming out to the media to support O’Neill. Back in his electorate as I am posting this, nothing has been done. He promised us water supply, electricity and better road links last year in one of his speech at a graduation ceremony. To this date, the promised services are yet to reach us. He is put on the list to exit parliament come 2017 as a first timer. Most MPs acted like disables. They know what the wrong but can’t open their mouths. They witness the foul plays but acted as blinds and deaf. They are living a very pretending life while their people continue to suffer.

The Attorney General & Justice Minister at that time Hon Kerenga Kua had little to say on the saga unlike what the current on-the run criminal Ano Pala did. He knew that Peter O’Neill has lied to his own people as their leader.

Finance Minister and Tari-Pori MP James Marape with the support of the Rigoan Ano Pala stepped in with court injunctions to salvage their master Peter O’Neill by allegedly declaring that the legal bills rendered or submitted by Paul Paraka Lawyers were genuine and add up to that sky rocketed amount of K71.8million. The joint moved by the Ministers has kept O’Neill safe and sound. In fact this new twist proved that Prime Minister Peter O’Neill has lied to Papua New Guineans and international communities about his signature being forced.

So as the payments of bills bestowed reflects underground and night clubs round table corrupt deals. Ano Pala was on the run, meaning the police are looking for him but gave in earlier today. The court has found him guilty for preventing the course of justice, which was to arrest the current Prime Minister. He now carries three name tags – Rigo MP, Attorney General Minister & CRIMINAL since he was out on the run. The wheel of justice is still turning. Who is next on the list to follow Pala?

Overseas expatriates like the so-called spin doctor Susan Merrel were hired or paid to add more defensive shield to protect Peter O’Neill. They have no idea of Papua New Guinea and do not want to believe in the truth exposed by various anti-corruption agencies. When the justice is not on their side, they questioned our justice system. Even though they contributed nothing to our economy in terms of tax, they are put on higher pay. In other words, we are paying them millions for supporting lies at their comfort zones in overseas through the tax while those that deserves pay increase such as teachers and nurses still awaits government to increase their pay – sad truth. Corruptionist Merrel at one stage tried to compare her master Peter O’Neill and Sam Koim.

The unchanged fact that she doesn’t know and which many PNGeans know of is that Mr. Koim fears God more than O’Neill does. Koim doesn’t tolerate sin in his profession like O’Neill. I remembered part of his speech during a conference in Madang early this year on how he refused to entertain a K300 000 bribery for the sake of serving the 7 million plus Papua New Guineans. In his response to the client who wanted to bribe him, he said the following; “INSTEAD OF GIVING ME WITH K300 000, GIVE ME K7 MILLION.” When the client gave Koim a surprised look after hearing amount, Koim explained the client that the “K7 MILLION IS FOR THE 7 MILLION PEOPLE OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA, K1 PER HEAD.” What a story to tell. He chooses to serve his people instead of money. I bet O’Neill and his slaves (Government fat bellies MPs, brief case carriers, tea boys and girls) would have done such. They all are very afraid of sacrificing their jobs in the name of transparency, justice and corruption.

I can only imagine how much PNG could have saved if Peter O’Neill just turn himself to the fraud squad at the first place like Namah, Polye and other leaders have done to clear all the allegations labeled against him instead of continuously paying lawyers (local and overseas) to defend his dirty games. The rate of a lawyer with the title QC is K20 000 per hour. Take into account day one of the Parakagate sage till now. I leave the calculation part to you. By now, we should not be having any financial difficulties.

If you look closely, Peter O’Neill makes changes to government departmental heads such as police like changing his clothes. He uses the heads and his Ministers, MPs and supporters like electronic devices where he can control. This country can be financed by agriculture sector alone. PNG doesn’t need a seabed mining, logging and other destructive economic activities to finance its yearly budget. As far as the real developments are concern, most foreign billion kina loans obtained under O’Neill government are worthless and are benefiting certain self-centered leaders only. The sad fact is the disable MPs didn’t know that their master, O’Steal is a qualified accountant slowly trying to commercialize this country for his own benefits.

Just recently, the world has witnessed the sentencing of 14 Vanuatu’s government MPs for their part in practicing corruption. It is my prayer that one day this country will make headlines with a similar story.

Let me end here by saying – Politics in PNG is very interesting to watch. Most leaders around the globe step down or resign in their shame. I can remember one resigned when a ship sank into the ocean killing the passengers on board. Yet, in PNG, the Rabaul Queen disaster was just another mystery.

Peter Sharp and O’Neill continue to walk freely. I remember one Minister stepping down after he was found guilty of misusing few hundred dollars, not exceeding a thousand. Yet, in PNG, such act is uncommon. I witnessed recently a Prime Minister being removed as he doesn’t possess the economic management capability. Yet, in PNG, even though our debt level is very high O’Neill still remains in power with the support of those money face leaders like the one you see in the photo. The writings are on the wall. Yet, those in authority pretend that all is well.

As I leave the rest for you to add on, I also welcome those toilet cleaners, brief case carriers, tea boys and girls for O’Neill to put forward their arguments.

Until then, PNG politics is very interesting.
