Sir John Pundari Urged to Support Opposition for Change in PNG Government

By Nelson Wandi

In a surprising turn of events, the people of Kompiam Ambum have called on their Member of Parliament, Sir John Pundari, to join the opposition in campaigning for a change of the Marape Government in Papua New Guinea.
Sir John Pundari, who has been a part of the government for 32 years, is being urged to reconsider his allegiance and support the opposition in the upcoming Vote of No Confidence (VoNC) scheduled for May 28.
Despite his long tenure in government, the people of Kompiam Ambum feel that Sir John Pundari has failed to bring any significant development or services to his home district and the nation as a whole.
As a voice for silent majority of Kompiam Ambum, I believe that it is time for a change and that Sir John Pundari must break away from his old ways and take a stand against the corrupt practices of the current government.
It is evident that the people of Kompiam Ambum are dissatisfied with the lack of progress and development in their district under Sir John Pundari's leadership.
Together we are calling on him to align himself with the opposition and work towards bringing about positive change and improved service delivery in their community.

It ain’t weak to speak: Wayne Bennett

By NSW Koori Knockout

Wayne Bennett's words of wisdom guided Greg Inglis back on track after early post-playing struggles
When Greg Inglis hung up his boots, he thought it would be a matter of simply kicking back and enjoying retirement.
The three-time premiership winner didn’t really know what to expect from his life after football, and it took a couple of years before he truly understood the meaning of a few wise words from seven-time premiership winning coach Wayne Bennett.
“I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I thought I could just retire and move back home, live near the beach [or] live on a property,” Inglis said.

21 ENGAN LAWYERS ADMITTED TO THE BAR

A total of 126 Legal Training Institute (LTI) trainee lawyers were admitted to the Bar at the Waigani National Court yesterday.
This means that they have met all the legal requirements to practice law as certified lawyers.
Out of the 126 lawyers, 21 are from Enga Province indicating the positive outcome of the power of education changing the lives of Engan generations amidst the negativity tribal fighting has caused in certain parts of the province.
Tribal fighting is not prevalent nor dominant but takes place in certain parts of the province randomly.
Enga Province will continue to produce tangible results under the political leadership of veteran Enga Provincial Member Sir Peter Ipatas and administrative guidance of Provincial Admistrator Sandis Tsaka.
Enga Province is not just talking. The province is producing results that has been, is and will be positively contributing towards the development of Papua New Guinea in areas concerned accordingly.

Teen Arrested for Tiktok Video Wearing Police Uniform

A 19-year-old girl, Grace Bob from West New Britain Province, has been charged by Port Moresby police after a TikTok video featuring her wearing a police jacket went viral. The incident unfolded as Bob visited her boyfriend, a policeman, leading to the production of the now-controversial video.

Inspector Ben Wiai, Police Station Commander of 7 Mile Police Station, disclosed that the police Constable, identified as Kingsford Netto, has also faced disciplinary action and will serve as a state witness in the case. Netto alleges that he stepped out of the office momentarily, during which Bob, without his consent, donned his uniform and filmed the TikTok video. Subsequently, Bob allegedly uploaded the video to social media platforms, where it garnered significant attention, as stated by Inspector Wiai.

WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE?

Accidentally stumbled across a PNG homegrown multinational corporation's office in Auckland. Owner of Mapai New Zealand Ltd, Mr Jacob Luke (from Enga) went from being a mechanic in Mt Hagen to establishing a small trucking company that turned into the largest in PNG and now with business interests in shipping and logistics abroad. No school fees. No degree. No government funding. No rich family. No bank loans. No political connections. No internet. No facebook marketing. No media advertising. Mr Luke started Mapai with none of the prerequisites we use as excuses today. All he had was hard work, discipline, vision and a stubborn determination never to give up. If he can do it, you can do it too. What's your excuse? Don't let it steal your dreams.
